Kick off WIC Week with NAWIC Detroit 183 at our hands-on Community Bed Build, in partnership with the City of Detroit Construction and Demolition Department and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Beginning at 8:00 AM, volunteers will come together to support a powerful cause—helping ensure local children have a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

During this volunteer project, we’ll host the local nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace as volunteers spread out across workstations to cut, saw, and assemble bedframes that will be delivered to children in need across our region. This meaningful build sets the tone for WIC Week by combining service, teamwork, and impact in our community.

You do not need to bring tools, but wear clothes that are construction suitable.
